Firstly, do make sure that the temperature is not too high before you head out because it is important to put the safety of you and your horse first. Early in the morning or last thing at night are usually the optimum times for a ride, avoiding the full heat of the sun. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to both you and your horse even if the weather appears to be overcast.
